A simple Circuit using 2X lm3914, a cheap transistor and a relay... and a few other bits. you can set the max charge voltage with a small preset potentiometer, when the set voltage has been reached the lm3914 Lights LED 18 (the first red one) and also sends a small base current to the transistor, which then powers the relay coil and turns the ZVS off. when the voltage drops below the set voltage or the capacitor is discharged the power to the relay coil stops and the charging begins again automatically :-D.The transformer is a core stripped from a flyback transformer, with a hand-wound primary and secondary, approx 4.5+4.5 primary turns and roughly 100 turns on the secondary) oh... and before anyone says anything.... (the ZVS is on the Normally Closed contact on the relay) the whole unit/ module/ circuit draws between 3-6A @ 12VDC. Thanks for watching!

Yes, you could just install the 3s lipo and run your x9303. However the voltage will be about 1.5 volts higher than the stock setup (fully charged) and you run the risk of over heating the internal voltage regulator and having the transmitter shut down unexpectantly. (wow would that suck!) To solve this problem, I copied what others have done, I installed two diodes in series with the battery. Each diode drops 0.7 volts, for a total battery voltage reduction of 1.4v. End result is a fully charge lipo @ 12.6 volts appears to the transmitter as as 11.2 volts. This is equivalent to a fully charged 8 cell NiMH battery at 1.4 volts per cell.

I've been seeing these little IHC LA and LB engines running car alternators at engine shows this year. Usually they are chugging away charging up the camper battery. I decided to build one for myself -but I made mine electric starting! The starter generator came from an old garden tractor. I made a few simple brackets and here you see it. This video is the "maiden voyage" of the thing, so I didn't really know what to expect. Since this video was taken I have adjusted the mechanical voltage regulator to throw a little more charge than 0.8 amps. This engine was used to pump an oil well for most of its life.

Installed my new generator pulley tightener and cranked it up one more time. This time, with the different generator and voltage regulator, the ammeter looks much better.

This is a detailed walkaround showing the progress to date of my "Daisy the Diesel Project". It was named by my 5 year old Julian who loves watching "Thomas the tank engine" Buying this engine was the beginning of a project that just kept growing and growing. The engine is an indian clone of the famous Lister CS "cold starting" 8/1 diesel engine. This particular one was made by the folks at JKSON diesel. It is an 8 hp model, making its power at 850 rpm. Here is a bit of a rundown of what has been done so far in this project. * Stripped down to every last nut and bolt to permit proper cleaning out of the casting sand that we always seem to find in the indian made engines. * All paint and indian body filler removed, then repainted in colours of our own preference instead. * Built a frame to mount it all on, then set about finding and building on a number of interesting things for it to actually drive. There's nothing more boring than looking at videos of all these beautifully restored engines on youtube, which are doing nothing but turning themselves over and looking pretty! Diesels love to work, don't they? ! Well this one gets to work hard, and regularly. No glazed bores here... The two major objects driven by my engine are a heavy duty 240 volt alternator and an air compressor. The air compressor is a brand new 1950's made Bendix-Westinghouse truck compressor. It's about 8 cfm and air cooled twin cylinder design. It has an internal oil pump and white metal bearings, even ...

This is a how to DIY video that will teach you to make a 5 volt flashlight Mod for the Joye 510 electronic cigarette. The mod I teach you how to make I call the "Detonator" iut is a consistant 5 volts. Every time you vape the 2 cr123a batteries give you exactly 5 volt because of the inline voltage regulator. Other e-cigarette mods deliver 6 volt or more then slowly drop off as you use the PV, every hit the batteries become weaker and weaker slowly giving a lesser satisfying hit during use. The Detonator operates consistantly at 5 volt for the entire life of the rechargable protected cr123a batteries. This Detonator in the video has a red LED lit when the power is On and a blinking green LED when the attomizer is being powered. I take you through the process of making a 5 volt Detonator step by step, so that you can make your own. For those that don't want to make there own I will make one for you- just contact me for details.

Battery charging issue seems to be a common problem with our vintage British cars. Here the Moss Motors Tech specialist walk you through checking your voltage regulator to see if it is functioning properly. Does the problem lie in the generator, wiring or voltage regulator. This video will help you eliminate one of the culprits. See our How to Test your Generator to get the rest of the story.

I modded the airplane so that the X-Port can power the video camera. The camera now weighs much less (without batteries) and so it can go much higher. I also upgraded the battery to an 8 cell. This is the highest I have flown with this airplane. It took about 8 minutes to go as high as it did and then took 8 minutes to glide back down to the ground. A few times the engine cut out because it was getting out of range. The camera lost power about 30 seconds before I landed. On the way up I flew with some hawks that you can see if you watch closely. I think about 5 of them were circling because of the farming work going on near by stirring up the mice :-). I got up high enough to see the Columbia and Snake (if you look closely) rivers. I used a 5v linear voltage regulator from an old hub, a floppy power connector from an old pc power supply, and a dc plug from an old portable cd player to make the power adapter for the camera. Next I am going to add a magnetic fish-eye lens to the camera.

I added a pot of unknown wattage (guessing 1W) in series with the resistor leading to the voltage regulator. A 12V zener diode is more typically used, but ~200Ω in addition to the existing power resistor seems to work equally well. The freewheel isn't really that loud. It's just the camera trying to equalize the sound levels, I guess. And, no, my rim isn't out of true. I just didn't put the tire on very well, LOL. Here's a link to everything that's gone on with this bike. It's pretty long, though, and the first hub on this bike was a WE BD-36, so info on this iteration doesn't show up for a few pages. endless-sphere.com

Into the www.diyaudio.com, a comparison thread is running... the first subject is how to feed the long tail, a voltage regulator is good enougth, a zener is fine?, or do we need a constant current source (ccs). This small slide movie was made to show forum friends, and also my Orkut friends, about what is going on.

Peugeot speedfight 100

NEED HELP!!! PLEASE READ!!!! i bought this bike a few months ago and have been using it just to get around, the bike is now starting to become a pain.. its had a few problems starting up so i've replaced the battery and spark plug, i have now noticed when i come to traffic lights or at any point the bike is idling the lights flicker? is this because i need a new voltage regulator? the reason i believe it is the voltage regulator is because the new battery is struggeling to hold charge even after being for a long run! the fuel is also not reaching the engine efficiently as the fuel filter is almost always empty.. please notify me if you can help me with these issues. thanks
