I have made an electronic supply... an electronic voltage regulator, adjustable ouput voltage...entering 75 volts (more or less) unloaded, and circuit adjusts to lower voltage to feed amplifiers..... it is simetrical, so, adjusts positive and negative.... tracking error from positive supply to negative is 1 volt of different voltage under load conditions when adjusted to 50 volts (2 percent error of voltage into positve voltage compared to negative voltage under load conditions)... regulation is positive...voltage increases in the place to drop because the darlington gain and the error amplifier.... the schematic can be found in www.diyaudio.com, solid state section, Destroyer x threads, in special the Dx Power Supply.

In a galaxy not far away there is a newly discovered life form in it's evolutionary stage. Since the dawn of man we humans have wanted to control the universe. Now you can control your own universe. No klingons or chewies. Since my younger years I have wanted to learn how to control things with micro-computers. Some electronics nerds started with Heath Kits and many others built their own Apple II clones. There was also the Altair and KIM-1 computers. These computers started it all. I learned by starting with a BASIC programming language. BASIC stands for: Beginners All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code BASIC came built into some computers such as the TRS-80 and Commodore PET. Learning to programming a computer can open many doors for you. In the end you could program a computer to do just that "Open a door for you". The key to this revolutionary universe is an open mind. Through this open source project I intend to teach you a thing or two about the micro-computer world. INTRODUCING the GiGo Micro Breadboard: A simple easy to build 3 Level Prototyping Platform Level 1: BEGINNER - CPU Emulator Educator For the beginner with microcomputers, heres a learning tool you will never forget. Simple BASIC like commands will allow you to experience the digital revolution. If you have never build any electronic projects in your life you will have fun while learning the basics from making your own printed circuit board to step by step instructions how to build your own computer - a ...

I decided to make a quick video of me building the Plug-in Bread-Board Power Supply from the Maker Shed (www.makershed.com). This power supply makes a great addition to anyones electronics lab. Here's why This power supply module plugs straight into common bread boards, allowing you to cleanly and easily power your board with a wall wart plug or with wires into screw terminals. It features a variable voltage regulator that can be set to output 3.3 or 5V with a jumper, or any voltage if a potentiometer is added. The input has a rectifier that accepts AC or DC (polarity doesn't matter)--just make sure the input is about 2V greater than the output you want. Skill level: beginner.

DC30

This is a bit closer look at my DC30. This was my first amp I built. It was a ceriatone kit and my dad built the cab. Mods include increasing a couploe caps before the PI for a bit more bottom end, as well as adding a Variable Voltage Regulator (VVR). Unfortunately, this is just taken with a digital still camera, so the sound will not be very good. Therefore, I didn't waste much time or effort to try and give an idea of the sound. I was trying to talk fast because my memory card was filling up really fast.

I fitted this standard Lumenition Optronic Ignition system to eliminate the points from the Sugga's Bosch distributor. I used the standard Optronic system because it can run with the Sugga's original 3 ohm coil. If the Performance Optronic system is used then the coil would need to be changed for a matching high performance low resistance 1.5 ohm coil. On such a low-revving engine this Performance constant energy ignition system is totally unnecessary, so don't bother with it. All the screw caps on the original coil should be unscrewed and the connections inside the coil should be cleaned of any dried grease or corrosion as this can cause a high resistance reading for the coil (ie anything above 3 ohms) and reduce the intensity of the ignition module's spark. These screw caps can be difficult to remove so you may need to heat them up and get penetrating heat in to their threads, whilst rocking them back and forth with molegrips. Don't grip the screw caps too tight as they are quite soft. The Optronic system uses an infrared optical eye to trigger the ignition unit via a 6-bladed chopper. I bought the ignition module and infra-red trigger secondhand but I had to buy the chopper and base plate directly from the manufacturer, Autocar Limited. Their technical department advised me on the best parts to use as the Sugga's Bosch distributor isn't listed in their catalogue so they supplied the closest fitting items, which went in perfectly. I had to replace the original base ...

This is a detailed walkaround showing the progress to date of my "Daisy the Diesel Project". It was named by my 5 year old Julian who loves watching "Thomas the tank engine" I bought this wonderful engine in Australia from a company called "Ozlisteroids." Their website address is www.ozlisteroids.com Buying this engine was the beginning of a project that just kept growing and growing. The engine is an indian clone of the famous Lister CS "cold starting" 8/1 diesel engine. This particular one was made by the folks at JKSON diesel. It is an 8 hp model, making its power at 850 rpm. Here is a bit of a rundown of what has been done so far in this project. * Stripped down to every last nut and bolt to permit proper cleaning out of the casting sand that we always seem to find in the indian made engines. * All paint and indian body filler removed, then repainted in colours of our own preference instead. * Built a frame to mount it all on, then set about finding and building on a number of interesting things for it to actually drive. There's nothing more boring than looking at videos of all these beautifully restored engines on youtube, which are doing nothing but turning themselves over and looking pretty! Diesels love to work, don't they? ! Well this one gets to work hard, and regularly. No glazed bores here... The two major objects driven by my engine are a heavy duty 240 volt alternator and an air compressor. The air compressor is a brand new 1950's made Bendix-Westinghouse ...

There is an alternative solution when deciding between a step-down switching regulator and a linear regulator. Switching regulators dissipate less heat than linear regulators especially when the input voltage is much higher than the output voltage or the output load current is relative high. On the other hand, linear regulators are very simple and dont require inductors. What if there was a switching regulator circuit could be simplified and fitted inside a surface mount package and the complete solution became as simple as a regulators circuit?

Here is a little better video, I will update with a new video after I re-jett. It took about an hour and a half to install. A second set of hands to help with the front pipe is a must, and unbolt your voltage regulator and move it out of the way to make getting the front pipe in between the frame and the head allot easier. I have disabled the AIS and this bike does not snap or pop on deceleration. I am very happy with these pipes, the finish is great, good quality welds, heavy duty construction, the look is awesome and so is the sound. Makes the 650 sound pretty good.

This is my 1978 Mercury Grand Marquis...has 275000 miles on it (375000??) and still runs very well. It has a 400 CID engine with FMX automatic transmission. It has had all of the brake components replaced including wheel cylinders, rubber lines and master cylinder, new carburetor, valve cover gaskets, voltage regulator, alternator, starter solenoid, radiator, fuel pump, tires and wheels, new belts and hoses, and I added a gauge package to it as it does not have any factory gauges except fuel. The factory Philco-Ford 8 track radio still works well! It has driven to Abilene and the Dallas metroplex many times with no trouble.
