voltage regulator save the bad transformerr.. 5% losses only... and did it when supply had bad rectifiers and small filtering... the rectified voltage losses were enormous in the voltage regulator input..from 55V dropped to 40 V (around 28%) when loaded with something around 2.5A.... output voltage previously adjusted in 35 volts, had a 1.6 volts drop (-5%).....so.... input had 15 volts losses... output, regulator job, resulted in 1.6Volts losses..... this is good to be used when your transformer is bad.... or when you need to reduce voltage from some supply you have.... regulator needs around 7 volts from colector to emitter, in the series pass transistor, to work fine... better regulation increasing the error amplifier transistor gain... zener voltage use to be 1/3 of your selected output voltage (adjustable).... The lower the output voltage adjusted, the better the regulation...but the higher is the powr over the series pass transistor...the heat will be big.... in this case.... 2.5 amperes and 6.3 volts from colector to emitter..heat is 15.75 Watts... aluminium blade... 17 by 17 centimeters will be good to this symetrical series pass regulator...you can bend the aluminium to any shape you want, or you can use conventional, standard heatsinks..the ones uses fins.

Krauler Voltage Stabilizers of VR-SD SeriesDo you remember those olden days when TV sets were large and black-and-white? At that time many homes had small black boxes next to their TV sets. TV sets were connected to them, and they, in turn, were connected to the mains. These boxes were called voltage stabilizers, and they served to protect TV sets and other electronic appliances from power surges in the network. Since then much time has passed, technologies have made a big step forward, and the quality of power supply has improved. Nevertheless, power surges that can damage electronics, even though they are quite rare, still may occur even in modern power supply networks. Besides, anyone may face the problem of a storm or a short-circuit.The device we're going to consider (Krauler's VR-SD) is an automatic voltage stabilizer and it is basically a descendent of those black boxes which once protected TV sets of our grandmothers and grandfathers against power supply instability. Being designed using modern technologies, Krauler VR-SD is able not only to level off power drops, but can also perform other functions to ensure quality power supply for the devices connected to it. This became possible due to the most reliable stabilization circuit - a circuit that uses a servomotor, which provides an ideally smooth voltage regulation, and supports devices with high starting currents, such as refrigerators, washing machines or electric drills. The stabilizer connects the load to the ...

Adjustable Voltage Stabilizer An adjustable voltage stabilizer is an integral part of a modern radio electronic device. The voltage stabilizers most commonly used for this application are integrated voltage stabilizers - or integrated circuits. In most cases these are microchips designed for a standard fixed voltage value. However, some cases require voltage that is different from the standard one. Or we might need a power source with adjustable output voltage. Such power source can be assembled using a microchip - an adjustable voltage stabilizer, say, LM317. This microchip is offered be many producers and in different configurations, for various load currents, and, respectively, in a variety of cases - from SO-8 to ТО-3. The standard microchip connection circuit is very simple and requires just a small number of additional elements. The power unit consists of a step-down transformer, a diode bridge and evening capacities. An input capacitor needs to be connected to eliminate high-frequency generation in step-like connection of input voltage. The output capacitor provides stability in pulse changes of the load current and decreases the level of pulsation. The output voltage is adjusted using a variable resistor, which forms a bleeder together with the fixed resistor R1. By changing the resistance of a variable resistor we control the output voltage, according to the formula. 1.25 coefficient in this formula is the value of voltage reference. This device will help you ...

This video shows the effect of voltage change on efficient electronic ballast fluorescent lighting. Most users of T5 and T8 tubes know that changing their old magnetic ballast fluorescent lighting for electronic ballast lighting saves money on power and replacement costs. However, there is a misconception that these types of efficient lighting cannot benefit from power optimisation. This video shows that this view is incorrect.

VR-N series Voltage Stabilizers by Krauler The main reason that causes the laptops, computers, TV sets and other expensive equipment to break down is a voltage drop. It is well known that consumer devices are designed to be used at 220-230V. But the real voltage in the mains often varies from 150 to 280V. Voltage stabilizer is a device that automatically converts high/low voltage in stable 220V.There are three different power options for KRAULER stabilizers of the N series: 1000, 2000 and 3000 volt-amperes (VA). The higher the power value is, the higher are the total power and the number of various devices which may be connected to the stabilizer. The work of stabilizers of this series is based on a simple, but very effective relay circuit. On the left side of the device there is a LED display, showing the current value of voltage. The digital display is very convenient to control the input and output voltages, its indications are well read, even under fairly bright illumination. The display shows the input voltage. At voltages beyond the permissible values, the protection system activates. If the voltage drops below 140V, the LED indicator lights up the letter L, signaling of a low level of voltage. If the voltage exceeds the maximum permissible value, the letter H is displayed. In the case the voltage continues to increase, all the connected devices will be disconnected from the power supply to avoid faults and damages. There are five sockets on the reverse side, which ...

Voltage Stabilizer Krauler VR-RThere is a saying: "A peasant needs thunder..." Therefore, many people think: "My equipment has never burned out. Why do I need a stabilizer?" As a matter of fact, the cost of a stabilizer is minimal. Especially in comparison with the cost of a plasma TV, a home theater, a Hi-Fi system or a simple laptop. And the protection provided by the stabilizer is really fail-safe. When this "thunder" shows up, the stabilizer will save both your expensive equipment and your wallet.Let us take, for example, the voltage stabilizers of the series R by Krauler. This device is quite compact and is designed primarily for home use. The front panel has digital red LED display that can show the information about the voltage at the input and at the output of the stabilizer. In normal mode the output voltage is indicated. In order to see the value of the input voltage you need to push the "INPUT/OUTPUT" button.Under the main display there are three LEDs: green, yellow and red. The glow of the first one ("WORKING") indicates that the stabilizer is connected to the mains and is ready to operate. The glow of the red LED ("UNUSUAL") accompanied by a sound signal indicate that the value of the output voltage does not correspond to the calculated one. If the voltage is too high the letter "H" is displayed on the digital display, and if it is below 140 V, then the "L" letter lights up.The device supports the function of delay in applying voltage to the output sockets of ...

I'll just mention again that if you own or can borrow most any functioning Ignition coil and 2 spark plug wires off a car or truck, you could use them to test start your engine. I've expanded below how to wire up the coils + and - wires. Then all you'd have to do is rig both spark plug wires together into your coils single output. Your engines original coil fired both spark plugs simultaneously just like this, it just had dual spark plug wire outputs. Ok cool, its a 77. Below is the correct 1977 schematic and I've updated my wiring identification info from my previous post: 1- Rectifier ground wire (I'd connect this to the same location your negative battery cable bolts to the engine) 2- Rectifier power feed (connects to + side of battery) 3- Rectifier. (It converts A/C to D/C voltage) 4, 5 and 6 are the three AC-voltage legs coming from your engines charging coil. (looks like that plug just went bad and they bypassed 2 of the wires around it) For now your engine would start and run fine without #1 through 6 or #12 connected. (they're all just to charge ...

A Solar Charge Regulator aka Controller acts as voltage regulator allowing batteries to charge without overcharging. 7 amp hours at 12 volt = 12 watts of continuous usage for 7 hours OR 7x12 = 84 watts for ONE hour. 7 amps of current at 12 volt is 84 watts. Most regulators figure somewhere between the charging battery voltage and the open voltage or right at the top of a fully charged battery. 7 amps x 14 volts (fully charged battery) = 98 watts rounded to 100 watt MAX! Some older batteries that are in poor condition, like the one I am using in this video, draws current less effectively, this is why it is only receiving 38 watts. Also, the wiring is not proper for a real installation and the panel is not at the optimal angle to the sun, this is just to show you what a "Charge Regulator" does. It is easy to forget!!!!! I had toxic gas smelling up my yard from a smoking battery I hooked direct in the morning and by 12 noon it was destroyed! Dangerous and stupid, BY A CHARGE REGULATOR! A fully charged 12 volt battery is 12.6 - 12.8 volts at rest and 13.6 - 14.0 volts while charging.

LD1236VL (Sony) High Power AlGalnP Laser Diode Fixed and improved: * Faster burn time, only 1 sec. (with correct focal point) * Added a voltage regulator so that the voltage will be constant even after a 100 burns. * Reduced weight by using 9V battery instead of 4x AAA battery. ( well, the main reason for using a 9V battery is that 4xAAA only gives 5.7V max and if I wanna regulate 5.7V constantly is impossible. The regulator can only provide output voltage not larger then the input voltage. a 9V battery tipically drop from 9.xV (brand new) to 8.xV ( almost exhausted) 2.5V, 250mA, approx 150mW optical output power. Using LM37 voltage and current regulator for input stability. ** when added LD, the V-LD should be about 2.5V! not 5.7 or 5.23! ** the 5.7V is only the circuit output rating, no load ( R-LD ).

This is a how to DIY video that will teach you to make a 5 volt flashlight Mod for the Joye 510 electronic cigarette. The mod I teach you how to make I call the "Detonator" iut is a consistant 5 volts. Every time you vape the 2 cr123a batteries give you exactly 5 volt because of the inline voltage regulator. Other e-cigarette mods deliver 6 volt or more then slowly drop off as you use the PV, every hit the batteries become weaker and weaker slowly giving a lesser satisfying hit during use. The Detonator operates consistantly at 5 volt for the entire life of the rechargable protected cr123a batteries. This Detonator in the video has a red LED lit when the power is On and a blinking green LED when the attomizer is being powered. I take you through the process of making a 5 volt Detonator step by step, so that you can make your own. For those that don't want to make there own I will make one for you- just contact me for details.
