I made the world's first Altoids Smalls portable USB charger that uses a 9v battery as its power source. It also has special resistors for pin 2 and 3 to fool any device into thinking that it is charging from a wall outlet. The current reaches as high as 1amp, and it lets any device charge very fast. Components used are: Altoids Smalls tin, 9v battery, 2 100ohm resistors, 5v voltage regulator, switch, electrical tape, and a few very thin wires. Enjoy.

Control of LM317T PDM Stabilizer LM317 is one of the most widely used voltage stabilizers. It provides 1.25V - 37V output voltage фтв 1.5А current. Generally, a potentiometer is used to adjust the output voltage. The diagram demonstrates use of the analog voltage as a potentiometer generating PDM signal. PDM parameters may be set by an external controller or any other digital integrated circuit. PDM signal may be converted into DC voltage by RC low-frequency filter and an operating amplifier. It provides voltage adjustment of LM317 stabilizer output level. Alteration in relative PDM pulse duration provides generation of 0V -- 5V analog voltage at the filter output. Operating amplifier increases the voltage to a required rate. Alteration in R4 and R2 resistor ratings provides required amplification. Capacity of С1 and R1 filter resistor depends on PDM signal frequency. The diagram includes rates for a frequency of 1kHz.

I built a "field" ballast for the generator in my 1963 Ford Galaxie so I can control the constant overcharging problem I had with that car. When I took out the bench seat and put in bucket seats I had this nice big space between the seats. So I built a console with my CB, scanner, stereo and alarm system in it, I also had a voltmeter in the console that I could monitor and if the battery started to overcharge, I just flipped the switch to put the ballast in the circuit. The "ballast" was 2 20 watt resistors in paralell for a total of 10 ohms as I recall.(going from memory) The relay and the resistors was under the hood and it was controlled by a switch on the console.

Diy lipo glowplug igniter

My new prototype lipo glow plug igniter. 3000 mah 1s3p lipo. Was bored this cold winter wanted to make a glow plug igniter to last all season on one charge. Well that's goal. Used old lipo because that's what I had. Works great so far. Using a 1.5v 3amp voltage regulator to regulate 4.2v to 1.5. Low voltage drop off regulator.

Here I am demonstrating a quick cruise through my neighborhood in my 1977 Lincoln Continental Town Car. If you listen carefully, you can hear Brenda Lee on the original 8-track tape player. The hum you hear in the background was alternator hum before I had the voltage regulator replaced. *What I refer to as the battery dying, is the camera battery, not that car battery... just to clarify*

Switching Voltage Regulator. Principle of OperationSwitching regulator is a voltage regulator which operates in the switching mode. Most of the time a regulating element is either in a cutoff state at maximum resistance, or saturation state at minimum resistance, hence it can be viewed as a switch. In a switching regulator, the current from an unstabilized external source is fed to a storing element in short pulses, a storing element is usually an inductor; energy is accumulated in the process, and then it is released to a load in the form of electrical power but with a different voltage. The regulation is achieved through the control of pulses and intervals between them, ie pulse-width modulation. Switching regulators have higher efficiency than linear regulators. According to the relation between input and output voltages, switching regulators are divided into: DC-DC converters, DC-AC converters, AC-AC converters, DC-AC converters. According to the switch type: field-effect transistor, thyristor, bipolar transistor. And as a storage element, an inductor, a battery or a capacitor is used. Below there is an example of how a switching regulator can be used as a DC-AC converter, with an inductor as a storage element. In this converter, the switch is placed after the inductor. When the switch is closed, the source current flows through the inductor L increasing the current and accumulating the power. When the switch is open, the source current flows through the inductor L ...

Voltage regulator of my Suzuki broke down twice in one summer. At first, I had no idea something was wrong before the battery was empty. Second time the bike got really weird (video). Then I also noticed the changes in the brightness of neutral-light. You are good to go if you take the regulator off, but obviously the battery won't be recharged. I was able to drive from Haukipudas to Kemi (~90km) starting the engine four times - without the regulator - and reloaded the battery when I got there. I recommend to pack a back up battery when doing that. You can obviously take a lot longer trip with lights off, but that's not legal in Finland. If you have another biker with you, it's easy to swap the batteries of the two bikes every 100 kilometers if the batteries are the same size.

Scott61871 sent me a message saying that his scooter isn't charging, now I know exactly how frustrating this can be because I had exactly the same problem, and no matter how much I searched, there just simply isn't an easy explanation on how to wire it all up and check that everythings working properly online. Eventually I figured it all out, so now here's my laymans terms (because I'm a layman) step by step guide.

The 5V fixed output on my Shenzhen Mastech HY3005D-3 power supply died the other day, and so I took the device apart to investigate. The 5V regulator board had a bad solder joint where the bridge rectifier attaches to the PCB. I used a soldering gun to reflow the joints, and all seems good.

www.AuroraGenerators.com New 2012 model Silent Diesel Generator AGI6500SDE - UL, ETL, EPA and built CSA Standard 22.2 No 100 - Electric Start with two remote controls. - Digital multi meter display shows voltage frequency and hour meter. - Engine cold start preheater - Automatic Voltage Regulator - User adjustable output - Spare FIlters Included - No smoke or bad smell - Includes 4 20 amp outlets and 1 240 volt 30 amp outlet. - Battery Included Many brands on the market are nothing more then cheap junk. They have absolutely no electrical approval or decent company to stand behind them. Aurora has been around longer them most generator companies and is known for the top level customer service and parts supply. Agreed it is not "SILENT" but industry wide when it is a heck of a lot quieter then the traditional generators so they call it "silent" The remote lets you turn it on and off from a distance and that makes it great for those in trailers for example who don't want to come out to operate it.

R1200P Voltage Stabiliser

R1200P Voltage StabiliserThe single-phase voltage stabiliser model "S'til'" R1200P is one of the "S'til" series R stabilisers. It has a protective device and a power line disturbances filter. The stabiliser is a desktop block with a display and the line circuit-breaker situated on the front panel.A cable with a standard European plug is used for connecting it to the main.R1200P voltage stabiliser is designed to protect equipment that requires very stable supply voltage with the total electric power of no more than 1200 voltamperes. This can be medical, scientific, or measuring equipment and other expensive devices.R2000 voltage stabiliser has: a toroidal power transformer; natural cooling; discrete output voltage adjustment; a wide input voltage range; high overload capacity; relay-type power keys; high response speed; high stabilising accuracy for output voltage; electric short-circuit and overload protection with automatic release. The stabiliser can work at the rated power load in all bands of the extreme input voltage range. And now I will demonstrate how it works. Here I have a lighthead with 10 lamps. Each has the capacity of 75 Watts. The total load will be 750 Watts. The device is on and now we'll see how it works. Here we go. It's working. All the lamps are on. The load is also quite acceptable. Everything works just fine and I can be sure of the lamps' durability.
