I added a pot of unknown wattage (guessing 1W) in series with the resistor leading to the voltage regulator. A 12V zener diode is more typically used, but ~200Ω in addition to the existing power resistor seems to work equally well. The freewheel isn't really that loud. It's just the camera trying to equalize the sound levels, I guess. And, no, my rim isn't out of true. I just didn't put the tire on very well, LOL. Here's a link to everything that's gone on with this bike.
