The sound from camera is shit. But the amp sounds really good in person. Especially good for jazz-like songs. This is my first vacuum tube construction - not finished yet. I'll try to connect something better to this than pc. This is probably the first E130L tube amp on youtube! I use E130L (Teonex) as power tube, EF86 (Tesla) in preamp and SG4S (Lamina) in voltage regulator. RMS power 2x11W (power supply ~100W O_O) The project based on: www.jogis-roehrenbude.de (thanks!)

SIP, working together with a high end instrument company, developed this daring piece of equipment designed to carry the original style into new technical heights. For example, the face of this analog instrument is done in typeface with the km/h display virtually in the same position as the original. Measurements show 12000, respectively, 14000 rpm's, scaling is 100 x revs per min. Analog, and for exact displays, also digital. The display is a Black Edition version and practically invisible when the motor is off. The following information is shown highly visible: - speeds up to 199 km/h or 125 mph - temperatures up to 250° C for cylinder head or water temperature, a temperature sensor for spark plugs is included in delivery - Driving time Additional options - display 12000, respectively, 14000 rpm's - total route mileage in km/miles - driving time - average speed 0-199 km/h / 0-125 mph Quick and easy installation. Speed measurements are made in the same manner as the original, requiring no additional sensors. Data reception can also be directed through the lighting. The SIP rev counter ...

We changed over to an alternator in my brothers 1960 dodge dart seneca. We could have gone and bought a new 100 amp alternator but were to cheap to do that so we used a mid 60's chrysler alt that had been sitting in a barn for about 15yrs. www.tokyohackerspace.org The mecca of electronics geeks in Akihabara. You can buy PICs, AVRs, and ARM microcontrollers off the shelf. They have an extensive catalog of electronics components including sensors, voltage regulators, ASICs (like USB/serial converters, ethernet chips, MP3 decoders), transistors, diodes, resistors, capacitors, batteries, etc. The prices are excellent too. They also have many custom kits that are very interesting.

I converted an old PW caboose to LED lighting to get rid of any flicker going over dirty track or turnouts. I also wanted constant lighting at all speeds and voltages without the caboose looking like a traveling lighthouse beacon. I also wanted to make sure no heat was generated inside the caboose and all components were cool to the touch. I have successfully accomplished all my goals with this conversion. Alternatively, I could have also incorporated an voltage regulator and increased the LED brightness with smaller resistors while maintaining the fade, but this was the simplest design. and has fewer components.

How to Test Alternator Voltage Output (AutoUpkeep.com)
0 comments Posted by shopping-team at 8:45 AMAfter watching this video, you will be able to safety test alternator voltage output. This test can be completed using a basic multimeter (~$25). Multimeters are also known as VOMs (Volt-Ohm-Meters) or DMMs (Digital Multimeters). The surface voltage of a fully charged battery when a vehicle is not running should be between 12.5 to 12.8 volts. Most automotive batteries are lead acid 12-volt DC (Direct Current). Each of the six cells in a 12-volt DC battery produces 2 to 2.1 volts. When the engine is running, the alternator will typically put out between 13.8 to 14.8 volts. Cautions: Park the vehicle outside or connect the vehicle's exhaust to an evacuation system. Carbon monoxide is deadly. For more car care information, visit AutoUpkeep.com.

This is the completed version of my talking binary clock. It uses an SP0256-017 speech processor for synthesis (with an SPR016-117 voice rom), an SL1287 (a DS1287 clone) for timekeeping, and a PIC16F877A as the main processor. Other chips on the board are an op-amp for the speaker and a DC voltage regulator. There is also an alarm and snooze function, and it plays some of the SP0256 melodies for the alarm. It's been built for about a year now, but I never got around to uploading the video. The original, breadboarded version can be seen here: www.youtube.com

How to strip a technics 1200/1210 back to its face plate for painting or replacing. part 3
0 comments Posted by shopping-team at 4:30 AMThis is a video showing you how to strip a technics 1200/1210 back to its face plate. The reason for doing something like this is either to pain the face plate or to replace it, in either case stripping the turntable back to the face plate is required. Just as an experiment I phoned my local electronics repair shop to get a quote on how much he would charge to do this and he said 20 quid setup charge 40 quid to strip it and 60 quid to put it back together 120 QUID !!!!!!! Thats like 170 dollars I could buy a second hand turntable for that alternatively 85 quid to simply change the face plate thats like 120 dollars, so you are defiantly saving a bomb by doing this yourself. Its not massively difficult you just have to have your head screwed on and pay close attention to where all the bits went, if you think about it the main circuit board, the power circuit board, and the transformer are all joined so youre not going to put them back in the wrong place and you know where the tone arm goes and the pitch fader, and if you have ever switched on a technics turntable you will know where the power switch is, so you cant really go wrong. Information. When soldering on these turntables especially the older models leaded solder is normally used so keep your soldering tip clean after soldering, and mind your fingers because sometimes leaded solder can bubble and it spits and itll burn your fingers. This link is for more detail on removing the screws from the bottom of the turntable ...

how to change the target light on a Technics SL MK2 part 4
0 comments Posted by shopping-team at 5:30 PMDisclaimer: unfortunately I cannot be responsible for damages to your equipment as this is not a common rapier or service procedure and you will be using non original parts that said if you follow the video to every step and make sure you are confident you have the correct parts youll be fine. (Sorry just covering my ars) This is a video showing you how to replace the little pop up target light on the front of your Technics SL MK2 turntable to an LED. the advantages to this are, the LEDs draw less power, they are brighter, they have a longer life span and as an added bonus they work out cheaper in the first place. By the way the LEDs on my decks look blue but they are actually white, they look blue on the camera because they have a high colour temperature. Order codes: Order code for maplin led: N28BY = WHITE. N30BY = GREEN. N33BY = SUNSET ORANGE. N31BY = BLUE. N32BY = YELLOW. Order code for maplin voltage regulator: QL31J = (PART NUMBER: TS7805CZ) OR UJ54J = (PART NUMBER: L78S05CV) When ordering the voltage regulator be sure to check the part number on the part its self to insure you are getting the correct part. Order code for Radioshack voltage regulator: 276-1770 = (PART NUMBER: ML7805A) WANINGS: Dont have the turntable plugged in while you have the plastic case off, i did the test with the multi-meter so you dont have to. Check and double check that there are no short circuits before powering up your turntable, and never allow a short circuit to occur in the lamp ...

Any help on the relay issue would be appreciated. Edit: I have resolved the issue, by adding a small capacitor between the LCD 5V+, and GRND. The problem is that i have a defective 5V voltage regulator, which only produces 4.4V at minimum load. This causes the LCD's brownout detector to momentarily trip when the NAC relays magnetize.
