Bipolar power supply from unipolar. Circuitry engineeringIn the process of construction of various electronic devices, there are often situations when a bipolar power supply is required to power them. In case there is a transformer with one step-down winding, it is not difficult to make a source with bipolar power supply. Moreover, some of the circuits are also constant-voltage regulators. Here is one of the examples of a bipolar constant-voltage regulator. The circuit consists of 3 simple voltage regulators. Alternating current voltage is applied on the diode bridge, the plus of which comes to the collector of the transistor VT2, from its emitter, relative to minus, the constant voltage of +12 V is removed. Consequently, the voltage difference between the collector and the emitter of the transistor VT2 is 15 V. Therefore, this voltage is used by the transistor VT1, and on its emitter, relative to the emitter of the transistor VT2, a constant voltage of +12 V is also received, and relative to the minus, the voltage is +24 V. Now we have a plus, total and a minus. But imagine a situation when there will occur a short circuit of the output of the circuit-wise high-side, in other words, when the emitter VT2 will be closed to the emitter VT1, namely, there will be +24 V on the common wire, relative to minus. This can result in the bringing out of operation the power supply system. To avoid this, a stabilizer is set according to the minus on the transistor VT3. The circuit has ...

Modern automotive pressure sensors are of up most importance, whether gasoline or diesel engines. Did you know that a faulty HVAC or air conditioning high pressure sensor can make the engine not start? It so happens that on some vehicles (Cadillacs) the high pressure sensor is connected to the other sensor voltage reference line. So a shorted sensor will render the crank sensor inoperable. Get the scoop here on pressure sensors. They're used in injection systems, transmission, HVAC and many other systems. Presented using advanced software CG animation technology to help you understand. Part of our wiring diagram and electronic series shown here on this channel. Enjoy...

A list of my multimeters can be purchased here: astore.amazon.com This series of videos is a tutorial on how to use a digital multimeter for beginners. It will also explain the basics of electricity and address some safety issues. This first video covers how to measure AC (alternating current) and DC (direct current) voltage. I use a Fluke 177 multimeter for this demonstration provided by Comtest: www.ComTest.co.za Items covered in this multimeter tutorial: * Multimeter safety * How to measure battery voltage; how to measure a car battery / lead acid battery; how to measure mains electricity / power outlet / 220 volt / 110 volt. * What is electricity; how does electricity work; what is voltage; what is current / amps / ampage / ampere.

THIS IS A VIDEO TO SHOW THOSE WHO DONT WANT TO SPEND A LOT OF MONEY FOR THE BIG SYSTEMS OUT THERE. THE BLACK UNIT IN THE BACK GROUND IS THE ONE THAT IM MAKING FOR A FRIEND WHO WILL USE IT WITH GREAT GLADNESS. HIS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY DESTROYED BY LIGHTENING. IT WOULD COST TOO MUCH FOR REPAIRS AND NEW DEPOSITS AND OLD BILL TO RECONNECT, ESPECIALY WITH REPAIRS FOR A NEW SERVICE BOX AND UPDATING TO A BREAKER SYSTEM AND THE WIRES DESTROYED IN THE HOUSE. ALTHOUGH THIS UNIT WILL NOT NORMALLY SUPPLY A NORMAL HOUSE HOLD IT WILL ALLOW HIM TO HAVE LIGHTS , RADIO, TV , CELLPHONE CHARGING, AND A FEW MORE THINGS BUT NOT ALL AT ONCE OR CONSTANTLY. BUT 20 DOLLARS A DAY FOR GAS IN A GENERATOR IS NOT AN OPTION EITHER. A BAG OF ICE, AND A COOLER IS. WE ARE MAKING A SOLAR HOT WATER HEATER AS WELL. BY 1:00 PM HE WILL HAVE ENOUGH WATER TO DO DISHES AND GET A NICE HOT SHOWER. THEN RELAX BY THE TV OR RADIO FOR A FEW HOURS ON STORED ENERGY. THEN GO TO SLEEP WITH A SMILE. IF HE GETS UP IN THE NIGHT HE CAN JUST TURN ON THE LIGHT. AND ITS ALL FREE. I HAVE ONE CONFESSION TO MAKE ABOUT THE ONE IN THE FIRST VIDEO THAT EVERYONE HAS COMPLEMENTED ON FROM THE BEGINNING. THAT IS , THAT THE ONE THAT IS IN THE VIDEO IS THE 7th OR 8th ONE I DID. I DID IT FOR SOMEONE ELSE BUT I DESTROYED ONE OF THE COIL SETS IN IT BY PULLING ON THE WIRES TO HARD WHILE I WAS RETHREADING THE WIRES TO COME OUT THE OTHER SIDE. BUT THE 12 VOLT SYSTEM INSTEAD OF 24 VOLT SYSTEM WILL NOT SLOW THE BLADES DOWN WHEN ...

The project is essentially done and ready for delivery to the strawbale home where it will live. The only thing to add now is a bit of + / - physical protection to avoid bumping live buss bars, a small AA charge, and a lamp. This setup will basically be used to run a few kitchen appliances like food processors, etc, in an off grid home. When the SLA's die, each one (5 total) will be replaced with (2) 6V Trojans in series, thus comprising a 1000 Amp Hour Bank. That is why everything was done beefy, to accomodate that. I will post links to the parts I used; everything was quite affordable. The setup as shown cost less than $300 incl. everything you see. the inverter is a Xantrex 3000 watt modified sine wave with max 300A input.
