www.tokyohackerspace.org The mecca of electronics geeks in Akihabara. You can buy PICs, AVRs, and ARM microcontrollers off the shelf. They have an extensive catalog of electronics components including sensors, voltage regulators, ASICs (like USB/serial converters, ethernet chips, MP3 decoders), transistors, diodes, resistors, capacitors, batteries, etc. The prices are excellent too. They also have many custom kits that are very interesting.
