This video from pedalpowergenerator.com shows one way how to install a charge controller for your battery powerpack. This video is a great intro to people who have never cut a wire, and used crimp on terminals before. The charge controller makes sure that you don't over charge a lead acid battery. It can handle up to 25 Amps of current and can withstand up to 120 Volts input voltage.

**Always follow the instructions in your repair manual when doing repair or maintenance work on Outdoor Power Equipment. Manuals can be found at the manufacturers website.** In this video I check the voltage and frequency at the outlets on a portable Briggs & Stratton Generator, and the RPM of the engine. I also change the engine oil. You really should get a repair manual for the generator your working on to see the electrical schematic and get the proper specs for the generator, but in the USA the voltage should be close to 120 or 240 volts depending on the type of outlet, and the frequency should be around 60 hertz. To get 60 hertz on most generators, the engine RPM should be close to 3600 RPM. Every generator can have different specifications, so a repair manual is really important for proper specifications and the electrical schematic is priceless. The engine on this generator uses a splash type oil system, so it doesn't have a oil filter to replace. You simple drain the oil and refill the engine with 32 ounces of fresh oil. It is important to warm up the engine to operating temperature before you replace the oil. Warming up the engine helps the oil flow better, and it causes contaminates in the oil to get suspended in the oil and drain out with the old oil. I always use a single grade oil in the warm season with air cooled engines. Single grade oil holds up better than a multi grade oil under high temperatures. Air cooled engines run at a higher temperature than a ...

Understandably, this is not going to save the planet or signifigantly reduce your electric bill but it will give you really intense workout. It just seemed to make good sense that an alternator would work well since it is already voltage-regulated and cheap & easy to obtain. It is important to get the alternator spinning before you energize the rotating field or it will be very hard to get it up to speed. The amount of power you can get depends on how strong your legs are and the size of the inverter you use. I doubt the alternator could be maxed out with human power. Of course, you could modify the alternator if you wanted to. I've gotten 160 amps before out of a modified Delcotron. This one puts out 35 amps. Now, I realize some people would ask whats the point of all this. Well, whats the point of a stationary bike anyways? You expend energy for nothing as it goes nowhere. At least you could run a TV, stereo, lights, or whatever while you're at your exercise routine. Some of you auto electric experts might want to point out the seemingly high voltage and say "Hey, it should be no more than 13.8 volts" but this is a $3.50 volt meter!

This video shows the troubleshooting and repair (?) of the Leader LG-1311 Function Generator that was shown in a previous video. The previous video showed how the problem with this function generator could have been mistaken for a trigger problem on the scope. The generator had a problem with a low level, high frequency oscillation that was riding on top of the function generator output. The video briefly shows the process I followed to narrow the problem down, identify the offending circuit, and the result of the "repair". I put "repair" in quotation marks because the "fix" involved changing the original design. So, it is still possible that there is another underlying problem that was alleviated by altering the design slightly.

My new XR2206 function generator. Based on an ELEKTOR circuit diagram from 1977. The XR-2206 is a monolithic function generator integrated circuit. Features: + Square, sine, triangle, sawtooth wave output or pulses. + Frequency range from 10 Hz to around 200 kHz. + Amplitudes from around 0.01 V to 4 V (or more) + Audio output is possible For demonstration a digital storage oscilloscope DSO 062 from JYE-Tech and a speaker were connected to the output. Frequency can be adjusted by a ten turn wirewound precision potentiometer + multiplicator (x1, x10, x100, x1000) + another x2 multplicator. Surprisingly most of the 1970s electrical components are still available. So it is ~ 99% the 1977 model. Only the original voltage regulator had to be replaced by a 7812 . It should be noted that nowadays simple sound cards are better and cheaper function generators. However, I like this old technique. ;-) Elektor kindly gave me the permission to post the links to the original articles from 1977 (German and English language): www.elektor.de/120068 and www.elektor.com/120068

from pedalpowergenerator.com Pedal Power experiment conducted on the Leeson M1120046 DC permanent Magnet Motor to find out how fast a person needs to pedal to get 12 to 15 Votls DC output needed to charge lead acid deep cycle batteries or powerpack. Experiment performed by Brad at pedalpowergenerator.com This DIY video shows you how to create a DC Voltage output curve of the Leeson Model M1120046 permanent magnet DC motor used as a bicycle generator. Data is collected on a test fixture with a 1 horse power variable speed drive motor that simulates a person pedaling a bicycle at different speeds. The speed is measured by a tachometer and DC volt meter and then put into Microsoft excel to create a generator voltage output curve vs. pedal speed Miles per hour MPH

www.AuroraGenerators.com New 2012 model Silent Diesel Generator AGI6500SDE - UL, ETL, EPA and built CSA Standard 22.2 No 100 - Electric Start with two remote controls. - Digital multi meter display shows voltage frequency and hour meter. - Engine cold start preheater - Automatic Voltage Regulator - User adjustable output - Spare FIlters Included - No smoke or bad smell - Includes 4 20 amp outlets and 1 240 volt 30 amp outlet. - Battery Included Many brands on the market are nothing more then cheap junk. They have absolutely no electrical approval or decent company to stand behind them. Aurora has been around longer them most generator companies and is known for the top level customer service and parts supply. Agreed it is not "SILENT" but industry wide when it is a heck of a lot quieter then the traditional generators so they call it "silent" The remote lets you turn it on and off from a distance and that makes it great for those in trailers for example who don't want to come out to operate it.

6500 Watt Gas Generator

NEW 6500 Watt Gas Generators for sale. Starting is easy. Either connect your own battery and use the electric starter or as you can see in this video just give it one simple pull to start it up. Unlike so many others this one makes less noise, has solid rubber wheels, stronger frame and a 13 HP engine. 120 and 240 volt output with a L14-30 type outlet for connecting to you home. Many other generators use much smaller mufflers so they make more noise. This generators wheel are sold rubber so they never go flat. Automatic Voltage Regulator makes it safer for electronics.
