Testing the repaired voltage regulator for an MEP-002a, MEP-003a generator. You can see early in the video that the regulator adjusts the output with the rheostat. Next inside the control box and a close-up of the repair. And finally the voltage stabilization test. Going from a full 10KW resistive load to no load all at once. The voltage stabilizes very quickly.

Switched mode power sources (SMPS) - a modern power supply with high efficiency. The traditional linear power supply with a consistent regulatory elements remain constant output voltage when changing the input voltage or load current due to change of its resistance. Linear Regulator (stabilizer) so it can be very inefficient. Switched mode power sources use high-frequency switch (transistor) with variables on / off states, to stabilize the output voltage. Ripple output voltage is caused by the key mode, filtered by LC filter.

This is a first rough draft modification for my Spektrum DX7 which provides a backlight for the LCD Screen, enabling you to see the screen in low-light or dark conditions. It comprises of: - EL Panel ( White ) - EL Inverter - Switching Voltage Regulator (5V) - Mini Toggle Switch - Some Red&Black electrical wires You'll also need your own soldering iron and solder to make this setup to work. The setup runs off the DX7's battery. Using the Voltage Regulator means that it uses less power. This is just my first rough draft of this mod to check that I could get it to work. Next steps are to use thinner red&black wires as the existing wires I've bought are too thick and stiff. Then after that I hope to get this setup installed into the DX7.
