SCR Rectifier

This is the simulation circuit of a fully controlled thyristor bridge rectifier. The output voltage depends on the firing angle delay and hence the output DC voltage can be varied the varying the delay angle alpha.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR CHARGING SYSTEM FOR MOST SPORT BIKES. AND CHANGE THE STATOR AND VOLTAGE REGULATOR/RECTIFIER YOU NEED TO HAVE AT LEAST 14-14.5VDC AT THE BATTERY AND NO MORE THAN 15VDC WITH THE ENGINE AT 5000RPM. YOU CAN NOT HAVE SHORT TO GROUNDS ON THE STATOR YOU NEED TO HAVE CLOSE TO 65VAC OUTPUT OF THE STATOR @ 5000rpm.

My multimeter has an Offset error (-0.4V). The correct value is 14,4V . My gallery about completly alternator and regulator repairing: www.sportmotor.hu Voltage Rectifier/Regulator malfunction: A typical cause is !!NOT!! a bad SH633-12 regulator. The generator will be groundfault at high temperatures. Can not be measured by Multimeter only by Insulation Tester! Regulator alternates: moto-electro.ru or home.comcast.net !!! You should check the coil. Charging coil line (yellow to yellow) 0,1...0,3 OHm Ground line Contiunity should exist about 10GOhm/500V...50 GOhm/500V You can check this by ( Insulation Tester) or home technique: 1 Remove the whole alternator 2 switch DC voltage 0...230V :-) between one yellow and alternator-cover 3 Measure the current ( if your alternator is good, you can not measure anything by multimeter) 4 Calculate resistance (10^9 Ohm , G ohm) // 5 Heat to 100 ° C and repeat 2 to 4 // My measuring was 30Kohm when I warmed it to 100° C and this is very bad !!! 20° C was 1GOhm !!! I hope you find the problem ! If you have any question do not hesitate to contact me. My email: benzinszag@freemail.hu

My boat was reading 12.2 V at all speeds on the battery, a good sign that something is wrong, not charging. This is a 10AMP regulated system, after looking into specifics, charging should be around 13-13.5V. For motors without regulators 14+Volts is typical. Here is a test to try on a 3 wire...

Bridge rectifier is an electronic component which converts an input AC current into a DC current as an output. Electronic devices, and particularly portable electronic devices such as portable computers, cellular phones, and personal digital assistants (PDAs) typically make use of alternating current to direct current adapters (AC adapters) either as a direct source of power, or as a source of power to charge on-board batteries. Bridge rectifiers are used to rectify current output from alternative current sources, such as an alternating current generator. Three-phase bridge rectifiers have been provided for rectifying a three-phase alternating current to convert it to a corresponding direct current. The rectifiers generally comprise a three-phase rectifier circuit including six three-phase bridge-connected diodes and a smoothing capacitor connected between DC output terminals of the rectifier circuit. The six pulse bridge phase controlled rectifier is a widely used type of solid state power converter which is used in industry for converting a three phase ac input voltage to a variable dc voltage. The six pulse bridge phase controlled rectifier uses six thyristors as controllable power devices. Bridge rectifiers for motor vehicle alternators generally include two metal parts used as heat sinks that are electrically insulated from each other. The Bridge Rectifier When four diodes are connected as shown in figure 4-8, the circuit is called a BRIDGE RECTIFIER. The input to ...

Scott61871 sent me a message saying that his scooter isn't charging, now I know exactly how frustrating this can be because I had exactly the same problem, and no matter how much I searched, there just simply isn't an easy explanation on how to wire it all up and check that everythings working properly online. Eventually I figured it all out, so now here's my laymans terms (because I'm a layman) step by step guide.

My k2 1000 blew a fuse so I took a look at it...every new fuse I put would instantly be destroyed and some smoke would come out. To isolate the problem, I hooked the power brick straight up to another battery. Good ol smokey. SMOKE AT :18
